Job Description
Provide kinematics/dynamics analysis support to Designers and Engineers for the forecasting of component performances by means of manual or computer-driven analyses. Recommends design direction in development, analysis and verification of new products, concepts, processes, or tools and improvements to existing products, processes and analytical tools. Draws from experience and knowledge and provides technical guidance/mentorship to the engineering and design communities.
Major Responsibilities
  •  Expert in Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD) simulations of electro-mechanical systems especially with the use of MSC ADAMS software.
  •  Generally assigned to increasingly complex components, sub-assemblies and systems, to apply both analytical and fundamental kinematics / dynamics skills and knowledge to support current and future projects / programs.
  •  Serves as a technical specialist, applying advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes for an assigned area of expertise.
  •  Analyzes complex design problems and independently formulates engineering conclusions by the application of engineering and\or mathematical models\principles.
  •  In addition to MBD projects the analyst will also be required to work on excel based inertia calculations projects.
  •  Provides technical support for product design and development, verification methods, necessary analyses, etc.
  •  Employ analytical, quantitative and programming skills (using python, C++, VBA and statistical applications) to create new tools and eliminate repetitive processes
  •  Utilizes knowledge of current procedures, regulations, customer and industry requirements and practices to successfully create or assist in defining product specifications for a wide variety of complex issues in order to obtain new business, operational cost, timing, safety, reliability, quality, and\or manufacturing feasibility. Consults with engineering personnel regarding design specifications, manufacturing processes, legal, safety, and governmental requirements.
  •  Represents the engineering department as appropriate on technical program issues both internally and externally
  •  Maintains affiliations with, and represents the company in appropriate professional, technical and educational groups
Job Requirements
Knowledge and Education
  •  PhD in Engineering required (M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  •  Proficient in the use of MSC ADAMS software (minimum 5 years)
Work Experience
    5+ years of directly applicable industry experience in product simulation, analysis and testing.
Skills and Competencies
  •  Familiar with programming languages such C, C++, Java, HTML, MATLAB/Simulink, VB/VBA, Multisim, Python
  •  Fundamental knowledge of CAD software (IDEAS, CATIA or UG).
  •  Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  •  Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  •  Strong organizational skills with the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks with changing timelines
