1. Field calls and emails from customers, peers, Telcos and inter-company organizations

    2. Interface with other operations centers for escalation of alerts and resolution of issues 

    3. Primarily responsible for ownership and resolution of all GIN customer issues

    4. Perform scheduling/coordination of all maintenances that affect the GIN backbone

    5. Carry out select maintenances on the GIN backbone

    6. Perform head to head testing with Telco's to isolate trouble circuits

    7. Mid-level router configurations utilizing in-house configuration tools

    8. Perform mid-level troubleshooting and fault isolation on the GIN backbone network

    9. Provide consultative and technical support to all related parties

    10. Escalation of select customer issues to the Customer Engineering group

    11. Generation of reports based on Siebel tickets

    12. Mentoring and knowledge sharing with NA's

    13. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Manager

    Mandatory Skills
    1. Degree in a related discipline with preferable 2 years similar experience

    2. Good knowledge in TCP/IP, LAN/WAN topologies

    3. Familiarity and working knowledge of the following: BGP, OSPF/IS-IS,MPLS

    4. Knowledge in Unix/Solaris, DNS, POP/SMTP

    5. Had Cisco and Juniper router experience.

    6. Telco experience with T1,T3, DS3, Optical Circuits up to and including OC192, GigE and 10 GigE

    7. Qualification in JNCIA/JNCIP/CCNA/CCNP Level 1-2, will be highly desirable

    8. Able to work on shift

    9. Those who possess lesser experience and knowledge but willing to learn will be considered

    Desired skill
    CCNA or equivalent
