Major Duties & Responsibilities Service delivery and technical standards Responsible for managing daily operation of storage and backup management compliant to the backup-/ restore policy and disaster recovery plan. Completing backup and recovery, data migration, storage allocation, connectivity, and storage reporting requests. Creating, removing, and expanding file systems and volumes. Configuring and monitoring backup and storage systems. Responsible for maintaining and monitoring backup servers and hardware, tape libraries and associated tape hardware, storage networks and associated hardware and vendor-provided storage management software. Responsible for Capacity Planning for Storage and Backup infrastructure. Responsible for assisting with business continuity and disaster recovery planning. Responsible for level 2 support for storage and backup related incidents, problems and changes is provided as per defined service levels.
Other Significant Factors Unique Skills and Knowledge Well-developed knowledge of business operations Extensive knowledge and hands on experience in particular area of technical expertise such as, but not limited to database, mainframe, telecommunications, hardware, network systems, LAN/WAN topologies and protocols, Operating Systems, data processing techniques and contemporary computer technology, industry related technologies, hardware components and architecture Strong understanding of RAID concepts and levels. Strong understanding of SAN and concepts. Knowledge of operating systems and systems administration concepts. Analytical and problem solving skills Good communication and English language skills written and verbal Ability to handle multiple activities Ability to work both independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team
