Role Description

Job Purpose
Ensuring the efficient and safe running of the manufacturing department through overall supervision and monitoring of Executives / Officers/Operators reporting directly or indirectly to the position. Ensure smooth and effective coordination among them and drive implementation of discipline and adherence to SOPs, resulting in improved performance.

Key responsibilities:
Ensuring the efficient and safe running of the manufacturing department through overall supervision and monitoring of Executives / Officers/Operators reporting directly or indirectly to the position. Ensure smooth and effective coordination among them and drive implementation of discipline and adherence to SOPs, resulting in improved performance.
Planning of Capacity and provide budgets for necessary CAPEX items / Major Expenses and other resources.
Coordinate for Factory Expansion works, implement necessary actions to meet the gap between Capacity & Sales projection.

Implement required actions against various TOP initiatives Safety / 5S / EMS and ensure timely audits are conducted.
Control manufacturing overheads within budgets and try to maximize savings through relevant cost control measures.
Ensure upkeep of QMS system (ISO 9001:2008 planned transition to v 2015) and timely audits are conducted.
Ensure agreed customer service levels are met and make an effort to enhance agility of response to customer service requirements , through regular interaction with the sales function.
Ensure that a friendly and safe work environment is provided to the workmen by proper implementation of EMS.
Ensuring implementation of appropriate procedure for material planning (FG / RM / PM)
Ensuring proper norms are set and followed for inventory control.

Secondary responsibilities:
Providing necessary inputs and Data in the overall company level planning process (OPL & budgeting)
Keep a track of all statutory requirements and sensitize the concerned person.
Navision item masters and BOM generation and regular upkeep
Ensure Physical stock taking activities are conducted as per the set procedure of the company. Implement necessary controls to minimize variances during stock taking.
Provide active support to Maintenance Executive for timely action on Civil & MEP works related to infrastructural modifications, new machine installations etc.

Providing quarterly transfer prices to BPEL / BPB.
Sending various monthly reports to concerned personnel TOP Review report / Item Inflation Report / Vendor Service Levels / Customer Service Levels / Sourcing Efficiency Report / ETP test report / ISO Audit reports to ho.
Run monthly FLL and Batch Cost Summary report, get necessary inputs from Production and FG people on major deviations in cost and yield. Ensure necessary CAPA is implemented.
Ensure all customer complaints are timely addressed and necessary CAPA is put in place.

Key Interactions
Internal 1 Coordinate with Sales & Marketing to ensure timely inputs are received for effective material planning. Ensure necessary supply chain activities for any change.
2 Coordinate with Technical Function to get new RM / PM & vendors approved. Also look at necessary supply chain requirements for any modification of formulations or new products.
3 Provide necessary info to A/C department for capitalization of CAPEX items.
4 Coordinate with HO supply chain personnel for various initiatives and supply chain activities
5 Coordinate with Supply Chain person of other group units in the region on various matters like RM/PM prices, Alternate RM / PM and vendors identified, various TOP initiatives taken up by them etc.
6 Coordinate with HR department on the matter of HR related issues.
External 1. Interact with contractors and consultant for infrastructural requirements time to time.
2. Interact with consultants and certification bodies for implementation and upkeep of ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 systems
3. Meet key vendors time to time.

Role Requirements / Specifications
Qualifications Graduation / Post graduation / MBA
Previous Experience Minimum Experience of 4 - 5 years in relevant field
Functional Competencies Should have working knowledge on Manufacturing Process, Quality and Safety systems
Should have knowledge on all raw materials, knowledge on suppliers.
Should have understanding of FLL/CAPA etc
Should have experience in working with operators and driving initiatives
Behavioral Competencies Should be a enthusiastic team worker
Able to guide the team properly
Additional Requirements Experience of initiating and driving improvement projects
