    Reports to: Information System Manager 

    Purpose of the job: 

    To analyse, design, implement, maintain and support systems development applications to requirements and VAT implementation. 

    Principal Accountabilities: 

    Design applications / solutions based on given requirements, documenting the designs and providing time estimates to meet business requirements. 
    Analyse systems/user requirements in order to design and implement those requirements. 
    Translate design requirements into reliable and user-friendly solutions using appropriate technologies, languages and tools within defined standards. 
    Perform unit testing and assist with the testing and training process in conjunction with interested parties. 
    Transfer knowledge and information to other team members to ensure the team operates efficiently. 
    Give technical and business support to customers, helpdesk and other internal personnel in order to meet business and operational requirements. 
    To report progress against agreed time and budget constraints. 

    Knowledge, Experience and Skills 


    Degree or equivalent that demonstrates a logical and detailed approach to problem solving and IT literate. 
    Previous Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle Developer 6iForms and Reports development experience and forms migration Experience 
    Fast learner (capable of picking up new technologies quickly and efficiently). 
    Good understanding of taxation systems.
    Good communication oral/team relationship skills (required to work as part of a multi discipline delivery team, must be able to comfortably handle differences in opinion and explain technical concepts to non-technical staff). 
    Understanding of basic computer hardware (as required by a programmer using a high level language; e.g. can conceptualize/describe CPUs, Memory, Hard drives, Networks etc). 
    Previous implementation and design experience (medium to large sized systems). 
    Willingness to raise and take ownership of quality issues. 
    Oracle technology competence (evidence provided by previous industry experience and relevant certifications). 

    Experience using Oracle Warehouse Builder, Oracle Designer, ADF, UNIX shell scripting,. 
    Experience deploying and supporting live systems. 
    Awareness of performance implication of design decisions, including performance tuning experience for SQL. 
    Relational Modelling experience (capable of reading ER diagrams and aware of the main design considerations). 
    Previous knowledge in the Assessment Business Domain. 
    Previous implementation and design experience (Medium scale systems). 

    Experience: 6 - 8 years in oracle development and support
