    DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE OF WORK 
    2.1 POSITION OVERVIEW: 
    Responsible for application development and implementation, network and database management, and customer/user support in a variety of institutions engaged in public sector healthcare. 
    2.2 RESPONSIBILITIES: 
    Implement and manage internal software application running at health institutions located across the region. 
    Maintain and support TCP/IP based Windows 2000/2003, Linux networks. 
    Deliver routine database maintenance tasks like backup, monitoring, startup, shutdown, user and security management of Oracle, MS-Access and My-SQL databases. 
    Efficiently perform day-to-day Help Desk support, providing technical software/hardware assistance to end user, software installation, configuration and customization including analysis and resolution of problems. 
    Resolve first and second level questions dealing with basic how-to and system troubleshooting (including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheet, E-mail, redlining, calendaring, presentation, graphics, printing, networking, anti-virus, document management, etc.). 
    Develop Oracle Forms and Reports modules, write SQL, PL/SQL queries and reports for adhoc requirements. 
    Master advanced functions of standard and non-standard software applications. 

    Provide continuous training to end-users on new and existing desktop software applications and hardware equipment as well as continuing education through one-on-one training and group classes or discussion groups. 
    Collaborate with other trainers on training in-house developed hospital information system. 
    Maintain accurate records of training activities and employee progress. 
    Evaluate user skills as they relate to standard software applications. 
    The candidate must present himself professionally and courteously. 
    Support and assist with IT projects and new product rollouts, including evening and weekend tasks as required. 
    Support firm disaster planning and implementation. 
    Assist in the development of courseware, instructor outlines and end-user documentation for in-house training, including the use of different technology and media (books, software, Internet, one-on-one, classroom). 
    Work with other trainers to standardize firm-wide training procedures. 

    2.3 TECHNICAL SKILLS: 
    3-5 years of expertise in 2-tier and n-tier Client/Server Technology. 
    Minimum of 3 years experience developing and maintaining forms and reports using Oracle Forms and Reports Developer, Object Library, SQL and PLSQL with Oracle Development style, best practices and design patterns. 
    Minimum of 3 years experience in Oracle 11g/10g/9i database application development. 
    Working experience in hospital information systems support within health care facilities is highly recommended. 

    Minimum of 3 years working experience supporting large networks and application systems. 
    Sound Network Administration experience in Windows 2xxx/Linux/Unix. 
    In-depth knowledge in Health Information and Communication Standards like HL7, CDA, ICD, DICOM, ASTM, SNOMED, LOINC, etc. 

    Good knowledge in TCP/IP to troubleshoot common networking problems. 
    Solid experience in maintaining and executing routine jobs in Oracle 11g/10g/9i Database Server Environment. 
    Experience in using database and OS backup tools and execution of backup procedures. 
    In-depth knowledge in installing, managing, configuring and customizing all desktop tools, email client and other utilities running both in Windows and Linux desktops. Very good knowledge in MS-Office packages is a must. 
    Knowledge in Microsoft/Linux Clustering environment is an added advantage. 
    Excellent Work experience in PC hardware and peripherals troubleshooting is required.

    2.5 QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: 
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Related Fields.
