IRCLASS is a ship classification society dedicated to the safe operation of ships and clean marine environment.
Established in 1975 to aid the Indian maritime industry, its operations have grown in scope and international reach. It became an associate of the International Association of Classification Societies in 1991 and is recognised by the International Underwriting Association, London under the classification clause.

    Indian Register of Shipping (IRCLASS) a member of International Association of Classification Societies (IACS), offers ship classification, statutory and technical services to the maritime industrywith a complete suite of solutions over the entire lifecycle of a ship. We are looking for Senior Personnel for our Singapore office.

    Position: Senior Surveyor / Principal Surveyor (Techno-Commercial Role)

    Biz Line: Classification Society / Marine Technical Services / Shipping and Offshore Industry

    Location: Singapore

    Reporting Manager: Head of Operation, Head Office / Regional Manager South East Asia 

    Role & Responsibilities

    To undertake various surveys, audits and inspections of ships, offshore assets and other related marine areas as per rules and regulations of IRCLASS.
    Ensure compliance and continual improvement to the documented quality processes for delivering services.
    Support the region in revenue generation process by adding new customers
    Train and mentor junior surveyors for acquiring higher technical competencies
    Build and Strengthen IRS brand and its visibility in the region
    Generate business leads from the region for various verticals ships in service, New Constructions, Marine Technical Service, Offshore, etc. in coordination with Head office and Regional Managers
    Build and strengthen relationship with key customers both existing and potential in the region by giving timely and quality service
    Strengthen relationship with key stakeholders like Maritime Government Officials, Local Trade Bodies and Association, other Business Influencer
    Sharing of Market Intelligence from the region New Products and Services; Key Competitors; Pricing; etc.

    Position Specification 
    Chief Engineer (MEO Class 1) with 5-10 years of work experience with Classification Society or
    Naval Architects with 15- 20 years of work experience with Classification and Shipyards.
    Minimum 5 years of Classification Society experience is mandatory for the position.
    Education Graduate Engineer in Marine Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval
    Architecture; MBA shall be a desirable qualification
    Competencies High functional competency, leadership, biz acumen, communication; high
    achievement orientation and go-getter
    Age 40-50 years
