We are currently recruiting for a Heavy Lift & Transportation Specialist to assure technical integrity of all lifting equipment and operations to be used or being used and undertaken at BP Tangguh Indonesia BU faculties both on and offshore


Postion: Heavy Lift & Transportation Specialist
    Main responsibilities:
    • As the Heavy lift Specialist, you will reporting to General Manager Asia Pacific, Sparrows offshore and you will be responsible to ensure the following on behalf of BP with regards to contractors lifting operations:
    • Preparation in technical assurance activities, including audit and review
    • Assessment and control measures and implementation
    • Holds the authority independently to escalate for review with appointed personnel of BP if any of the technical integrity is being compromised
    • Provide technical interpretations, decisions and judgement related with the lifting discipline
    • Record any improvements carried out to current standards and specifications and include for further updates
    • Provide analytical advice on any technical conflicts or disputes in lifting discipline
    • Provide engineering expertise to operations and other departments within BP related to the lifting discipline.
    • Promoting and maintaining lifting safety for the work place including prevention of dropped objects, working at heights, hot work and confined space entry
    • Participate technical investigations root cause analysis within the lifting discipline for any incident or technical failure and follow up implementation of lesion learned
    • Prepare reports and presentations as the technical subject matter expert as required
    • Support for technical competency development for the Lifting personnel 
    • Act as single point of contact to solve any lifting issues and network of excellence lead for lifting/mechanical handling.

    • Will undertake the following type of work (list is not exhaustive):

    • Innovation and generation of new ideas i.e. challenging the status quo and seeing creative and resourceful solutions to problems
    • Strong communication and networking skills

    • Support for personnel and crane assessments after any accident/incident or during investigation
    • Review contract scope and suggest improvements related to lifting activities
    • Audit rigging loft and register for validity
    • Lead network of excellence for lifting, sharing knowledge within BP
    • Advice for heavy duty lifting equipment / lifting inspector roles
    • Review/support/advise other departments such as Field Operations/Project to create lifting plans
    • Knowledge sharing with Onshore/Offshore re lifting operations
    • Interview and assess personnel for positions associated with lifting operations on/offshore
    • Review terms of reference for mobile crane requirements (onshore)
    • Advise on lifting safety requirements, working at height and lifting operations
    • Establish asset register for lifting equipment / accessories
    • Review requirement for rental equipment
    • Review and guide lifting personnel to implement proper rigging methods on site
