Job Role :

  • DPS STS School is currently seeking an experienced leader and inspirational Head of Secondary School. The Head of Secondary will have overall charge of academics, curriculum, co-curricular activities and educational Administration of Senior school (Grade 5 to Grade 12).

Job Responsibilities

  • Area 1: Vision, mission, strategy and policy
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents and students to ensure the school provides best education for each student and assist them in their academic and professional goals.
  • Area 2: Learning, inclusions and admissions
  • Assist the Principal in allocating workload and the timetable of the School prepared by assigning the classes/subjects to the teachers seeing their qualifications, competence, experience & suitability.
  • Ensure that the Academic (Cambridge) Curriculum is planned, designed and implemented effectively.
  • Observe teaching methods and examine learning outcomes and ensure teachers are utilizing updated teaching materials, diverse teaching techniques and advance technology provided by the school.
  • Monitor and ensure that the quality of teaching and correction work is being maintained.
  • Liaise with the accounts department, school transport office and maintenance dept of the school
  • Keep the Principal informed of all academic/discipline related matters of the school
  • Area 4: Staff and training
  • Participate in Learning and Training and other employment activities for teachers and staff members to create a dynamic team.
  • Assess and evaluate Department Heads and teachers and other staff and identify areas of improvement.
  • Coordinate with the HR department to hire, train and evaluate new teachers under the supervision of the Principal
  • Area 5: Campus, security and safety
  • Oversee and monitor the School security system in liaison with the Business Manager and Head of Security
  • Be responsible for campus evacuation and lock down procedures and practices
  • Area 6: School community and partnerships
  • Maintain regular communication with existing parents and meet them as and when required and during all school events such as Report Card Days, PTMs, Cultural shows and other major Programmes.
  • Ensure the Academic, Co-Curricular and other Events or Programmes are planned and executed smoothly as per the Academic Calendar of the School
  • Area 7: Marketing, finance and resources
  • Oversee Senior School Budgeting under the supervision of the Principal and in Liaison with the Business Manager.

Educational Requirements

  • Masters degree in any discipline
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications. B.Ed or an M.Ed and/or any higher qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • 8 to 10 year(s)

Additional Requirements

  • Age : NA
  • At least 8 to 9 years experience as a Senior teacher. Educational Administration experience of 3 to 5 years like Head of Department, senior coordinator, Head of curriculum development will be preferred
